They are written in the present tense and explain the sequence required.

Explanation texts always have a diagram.

At St. Elizabeth’s we meet with our buddies every fortnight on a Friday. We get to know each other and share lots of stories. The level 3 teachers want to know all about your buddies! Tell us who they are, what their favourite food is and what they like to do in their spare time! We look forward to hearing from all of you!

In Grade 3/4 our new genre for this term is Letter Writing. We have chosen to write to someone who we want to get to know more. It can be someone in our school community or someone from across the globe! Why do you think we write letters? Why is it important to add details and questions in your letters? Who have you chosen to write to? What are you hoping to find out about that person?

In year 3/4 this term we have been working on Report Writing as our new genre. We have learnt everything that needs to be included in a Report such as subheadings (diet, habitat,appearance etc), paragraphs, punctuation and much more!

We have been investigating about our favourite animals. What animal have you chosen for your report? What are some interesting facts you have found? What else would you like to find out about your animal?
